What TradeLuma helps organise

TradeLuma helps self-directed traders receive user-configured alerts, apply execution controls, route permitted orders to supported broker workflows, and keep the alert-to-broker trail visible.

What the platform does not replace

Account and paper setup

Build the workspace around paper-first testing before any live-account workflow is considered.

Confirm whether each connected account is paper or live and display that state clearly.
Use separate settings and credentials so paper testing cannot silently inherit live permissions.
Record the broker account, base currency, market permissions, and any provider-specific limitations.

Alert

Webhook

An internet request that delivers an alert from one service to another.

Broker API

A supported interface used to request account data or submit broker actions.

Paper trading

A simulated environment used to test workflow behaviour without live capital.

Reconciliation

Comparing platform records with the broker's actual orders and positions.

Idempotency

Protection that prevents the same instruction from creating repeated effects.

Bracket order

An entry linked to protective exit orders such as a target and stop.

Slippage

The difference between a reference price and the actual execution price.

Exposure

The market value or risk represented by open and working positions.

Continuous futures

A charting series that joins multiple expiring futures contracts.

Kill switch

A control used to pause or restrict automation during an incident.

Source of truth

The system whose record is authoritative; for real orders, this is the broker.
